Cardiff Metropolitan University is the best university in Wales for employability, according to the latest Graduate Outcomes survey. The results show that 96.3 per cent of Cardiff Metropolitan University graduates are in work or further study and that almost two thirds remain in Wales.

The result places Cardiff Met among the UK’s best for graduate employment rates.

The national survey results* have revealed how many graduates are in work or further study 15 months after graduating.

The results also revealed that 63 per cent of our graduates remain in Wales to work, and 84 per cent of these are in the Cardiff Capital Region, bringing the latest skills, knowledge and innovation to employers, benefiting the economy and providing graduates in sectors such as education, health and other public services.

Professor Rachael Langford, President and Vice-Chancellor, said: “The latest Graduate Outcomes survey results reflect our commitment to providing outstanding professionally-orientated education, ensuring our graduates are well-prepared for their future career success.

“We are immensely proud of the significant contribution our work ready graduates make to the region, Wales and the wider world, strengthening economies and enriching communities where they are employed.”

The Graduate Outcomes survey is an annual survey sent to all higher education leavers in the UK 15 months after they finish their studies. Owned and operated by HESA, the Higher Education Statistics Agency, it’s the UK’s biggest annual social survey and captures the perspectives and current status of recent graduates.

Professor Jacqui Boddington, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Engagement), said: “These impressive survey results highlight the success of our strategic initiatives to enhance student employability and embed the skills and experiences needed in today’s competitive job market within all of our programmes.

“It is particularly gratifying to see that such a high percentage of our graduates choose to remain in Wales and contribute to the local economy.

“Cardiff Met’s focus on providing practical, career-focused education continues to yield outstanding outcomes for our students.”
