Professional Development of Staff

PgCTHE Matrix        Seminar Series

The QED has a central role in managing and supporting the professional development of Cardiff Met staff engaged in teaching and supporting student learning.

The Continuing Professional Development Scheme is accredited by the Higher Education Academy against the UK Professional Standards Framework, and enables staff to engage in a wide range of developmental opportunities irrespective of their level of experience.  These include workshops, team-based developmental opportunities, engagement with online resources, and thematic projects.  The Scheme is also able to confer Associate Fellow, Fellow, Senior Fellow and Principal Fellow through individual route applications.

The QED also leads the PgC Teaching in Higher Education matrix which includes the 60 credit M level PgC, and a shorter 20 credit module Exploring learning and teaching in higher education, and both are accredited by the Higher Education Academy as part of the CPD Scheme as Fellow and Associate Fellow respectively.

QED also runs several events throughout the year including the ongoing Seminar Series.
