Bursaries & Scholarships

Postgraduate Scholarships 

An award worth £3,000 for those who will be entering a full-time, taught Masters at Cardiff Met in September 2017. There are three application rounds, conditions apply. This scheme is now closed

Cardiff Met Sanctuary Award

New for 2017, the Sanctuary Award is designed for those seeking asylum in the UK and who have received an offer to study a full-time, taught Masters programme at Cardiff Met. It includes tuition fee support, a Metrider bus pass and meal vouchers. The deadline to apply is 30th June 2017, September 2017 entry.

Study First Award 

A means-tested award worth over £1,000 for undergraduate students starting in September 2017, who live in designated Welsh Communities First postcodes. The deadline to apply is 10th September 2017.

Undergraduate Academic Achievement Award

An Award worth up to £2,000 for the highest achieving students in each Academic school. Students must have chosen Cardiff Met as their first choice by 30th June 2017 to be automatically entered for the award.

Undergraduate Sport Scholarship Award 

Designed for Students that excel in Sport, split into different levels; Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. The deadline to apply is 31st August 2017. 

Welsh Medium Provision Scholarships

A number of our courses qualify for the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol scholarships. 

Student Union Sports Scholarship

Up to £1,000 to help those of exceptional ability with costs of training and competition. Organised by Cardiff Met Students' Union and supported by Spire Healthcare.

Care Leavers Bursary 

Up to £1,000 to help those entering higher education from a care background.   

Hospitality and Tourism Scholarships

Currently under review.


Special Awards: 

Cardiff Endowment Fund ​​

£500 - £1,000 to help Cardiff residents with the costs of university. 

The Chris Potter Sports Bursary

Open to students who have made a significant contribution to student sport as a competitor, official, referee/umpire, coach or volunteer with particular reference to the BUCS programme.
