What is a Degree Apprenticeship?
A Degree Apprenticeship is an alternative to traditional university study that combines the work-based element of an apprenticeship with the academic framework of a Higher Education qualification.
A Degree Apprenticeship offers the apprentice an opportunity to study for their academic qualification while working full time with an employer, gaining real-world experience in their chosen career path whilst at the same time gaining their qualification.
Cardiff Metropolitan University’s School of Technologies offers Degree Apprenticeships fully funded by the Welsh Government for 3 years. There are no tuition fees for the apprentice undertaking the degree, and employers only need to commit one day per week for their employee/apprentice to study at Cardiff Met.
The University also works closely with training provider ALS to offer those who have studied a level 4 qualification in Data Analytics the opportunity to enter level 5 of the University programme and will also consider previous qualifications and experience of all candidates in relation to potential module exemptions via Recognising Prior Learning (RPL).
