Cardiff Metropolitan University aims to provide a safe and secure environment for students living on campus, with friendly Halls staff available to provide support and help throughout your stay with us.

We currently have nearly 1000 study bedrooms located at the Cyncoed and Plas Gwyn campuses. In addition, we also allocate just over 1200 rooms to students through nomination agreements with private halls located near to the campuses. The private halls rooms must only be booked via Cardiff Met and not directly with Unite. You can apply for Halls online from Monday 1st April 2025.

From September 2020 Cardiff Metropolitan University campuses became 'Smoke Free' and no smoking is permitted on any campus.

Please ensure that a 40 or 42 week contract for Halls is suitable for your studies, as if you wish to finish earlier then you will need to find alternative accommodation. Your Cardiff Met Academic School will be able to confirm when your course ends.

Halls Manager at Cardiff Met

Cardiff Met Halls Managers are present at each of the campuses and are supported by a team of trained student wardens who are usually mature or final year students who have previously lived in halls. Evening and weekend duty rotas ensure that a member of staff and a student warden are always available to deal with queries or emergencies. The private halls providers have their own 24 hour security arrangements in place.

Cardiff Metropolitan University has signed up to the Universities UK/Guild HE Code of Practice for the Management of Student Housing which ensures that University owned and managed accommodation meets good practice levels along with minimum standards.
