Overview

Vibhushinie Bentotahewa is a Lecturer in Computer Science and or Games Development, Programme Director for BSc Computer Security. She was awarded a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in International Relations from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 2017; followed by a Masters of Arts (MA) in Security, Intelligence and Diplomacy awarded by the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom, in 2018. She completed her PhD, titled ‘A Framework for Acceptance and Implementation of Global Data Privacy and Security Policies by States (A Case Study of Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom)’, at Cardiff Metropolitan University, in February 2022. During the course of her PhD study, she acted as an Associate Tutor in the School of Technologies. She has also published a series of publications covering her research interests in Data Security, Data Protection, Personal privacy, Data Protection legislation, and Policy development. She was also awarded the student of the year 2019/2020 by the Charted Institute of Information Security, in 2020.
