Dr Varun Chaturbhuj Tripathi

Overview

Varun nearly has a decade of teaching and research experience in international business and strategy. He is also an honorary lecturer (T&R) in the Innovation Management & Policy division at Alliance Manchester Business School, the University of Manchester, and an active member of the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR): a centre of excellence in the field of innovation studies. In his previous assignment, he was a researcher at the prestigious John H. Dunning Centre for International Business, Henley Business School, the University of Reading. Prior to joining academia, he has had extensive corporate experience in manufacturing, business process outsourcing (BPO), and real estate research and consultancy.

His current research investigates the dynamic relationship between innovation and imitation, innovation processes and management within firms, regulations and eco-innovations, and catch-up strategies of emerging market multinationals, He is a member of various preeminent professional associations for management scholars. He regularly serves as a reviewer and presents his research to prestigious conferences such as Academy of Management (AOM) annual meeting, British Academy of Management (BAM), and European International Business Academy (EIBA) among others. Varun holds BSc in Botany (DDU Gorakhpur University, India), MSc in International Business (University of Birmingham), and PhD in Business & Management (University of Manchester).
