Overview

Sean joined Cardiff Metropolitan University in 1987. He has worked as a Microbiology Technician, Senior Technician, Chief Technician, Principal Technician and Technical Operations Manager.

Between 2001 and 2015, Sean acted as a technician demonstrator, primarily providing support to microbiology practical classes.

Sean’s current role has two primary functions:

To act as head of the Cardiff School of Health Sciences (CSHS) Technical Support Unit, ensuring provision of technical support for all aspects of learning & teaching, and research & enterprise undertaken by the school

To act as a Person Designated (under the Human Tissue Act) for the University’s research licence Membership of CSHS Committees / Groups:

  • University Health and Safety Committee
  • University Human Samples Management Committee
  • CSHS Health and Safety Committee
  • CSHS Managing Safely and Policy Working Group
  • CSHS Health and Safety Inspection Team Working Group (Chair)
  • CSHS Research & Enterprise Committee
  • CSHS Research Ethics Committee
  • CSHS Human Samples Sub-Group
