Overview

Mark is a lecturer in Sport Management supporting on the delivery of a number of different modules and leading on sporting events, work-based placement and managing sport and physical activity.

Mark joined the school in 2022 after working in higher education for 7 years. Mark has a range of sport industry experience managing sports development teams, teaching physical education, tutoring for health, organising events, facility management and club development.

Alongside working for the university Mark is an event organiser for British Cycling and has brought a number of high profile XC mountain bike races to south Wales. Mark is an A licence football coach and has worked as a coach / assistant manager in the Cymru South, he has recently been selected to coach the Welsh regional amateur team In Europe. Working alongside the programme director Mark has redesigned our events module bringing practical real-world experience for students to develop skills and combined this with research to support pedagogical approaches. Further research interests are managing and leading people and teams within the sports and business world.
