Overview
Kathryn joined Cardiff Metropolitan University in September 2009 and is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resources Management in the Business, Management and Law Department. She has been the HR Field Group Chair since December 2019.
Kathryn was formerly a Senior Lecturer for eight years with the Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Glamorgan and was the Training Co-ordinator for the WAG funded Wales Centre for Intergenerational Practice responsible for its Wales wide training and consultancy service. She has also taught a range of accredited courses for the Centre for Lifelong Learning at Cardiff University. Prior to working in HE, she had eight years' experience of management in the voluntary sector, most recently as Deputy Director of an infrastructure voluntary organisation.
She obtained an MBA with Distinction at the University of Glamorgan in 1997, gained a PGCE (PCET) from Cardiff University in 2006, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Social Research from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2010. Kathryn is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and an Associate Academic Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), both of which are vital professional networks for the continuous development of teaching, learning and research activities.
