Overview

Gareth is a Professor and Head of Sports Biomechanics at Cardiff Metropolitan University. His two research interests are coaching-biomechanics interface and Sports Medicine and Injury.

His background as a former International Gymnast and National Coach richly informs his research. Gareth is President and Fellow of the International Society of Biomechanics in Sport. He has over 130 peer-reviewed publications and has delivered 30 National and International invited presentations.

He reviews for the EPSRC, Royal Society and many academic journals. Gareth's university collaborators include Cambridge, Cardiff, Penn State, Osaka, Harvard Medical School and Sports University Cologne. Gareth is currently working with the Welsh Sports Council, FIFA and the IRB.
