Our specialist Health Sciences facilities are designed with your future career in mind, enabling you to gain practical experiences as part of your degree.
The biomedical science teaching laboratories are large, modern, and well-equipped, allowing students to develop key competencies aligned with accreditation requirements. Practical sessions cover microbiology, immunology, blood sciences, molecular biology, and genetics. Media screens and audio setups enable interactive learning between staff and students, ensuring an excellent learning experience in all lab sessions.
The dental laboratories provide hands-on training in fixed and removable prosthodontics and orthodontics. Each student has an individual lab bench equipped with essential tools like a micromotor, overhead lamp, and induction heater. A dedicated plaster room houses additional equipment, while a fully functional CAD/CAM suite with dental scanners and 3D printers supports modern dental techniques.
The industry facilities within ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre are available for use by students in support of our Food Science, Nutrition, Dietetics, Biomedical Science and Environmental Students. These include a consumer sensory suite, 4 pilot sized plants, a development kitchen and a consumer research kitchen.
The Health Assessment Suite focuses on physiological assessments using advanced techniques like blood pressure measurement, arterial stiffness analysis, pulse oximetry, ultrasound imaging, spirometry, and exercise testing. Research here specializes in vascular health, enriching the teaching experience for students.
Students have access to a large clinical facility with a multi-chair clinic, gait laboratory, orthosis manufacturing labs, and an anatomy & physiology lab. A simulation suite supports pre-clinical diagnostic and treatment skill development.
