We offer an extensive range of specialist teaching facilities which provide you with critical opportunities for practice-based learning on campus. Facilities include an Outdoor Learning Centre and forest school, science and psychology laboratories, art and design workshops, media and IT suites, music studio and a dedicated education library.

Outdoor Learning Centre

Our Forest School and purpose-built Outdoor Learning Centre at the Cyncoed campus, provides our Education and Teacher Training students with many practical experiences, with local primary school children frequently coming onto campus to experience interactive outdoor learning and play.

Education Experience Room

Our Education Experience Room is our dedicated library containing all the learning resources required by our Education and Initial Teacher Education students, including story sacks, puppets and a range of children's books in English and Welsh.

Froebel House

Discover our new Froebel House facilities at the Cyncoed Campus, where our student teachers, early years and primary education students learn about Froebel's principles and get hands-on with block play, clay, paper, woodwork, sewing and gardening.

Music Studio

Our music students across our Initial Teacher Education courses have access to a wide range of musical instruments. The specialist equipment ensures our student teachers are prepared to teach any classroom instrument, as well as learning how to teach music technology in our Mac suite.

Media Suite

Media and Journalism students develop important digital skills in our dedicated Media Mac suite using Adobe Creative Cloud software. We also have a sound-proofed self-operated radio studio equipped with podcast / audio recording equipment.

Crime House

Professional Policing and Criminology students use our dedicated Crime House facilities, which includes a custody suite, observation and surveillance suite, and victim and suspect interview room. They provide you with critical simulated learning opportunities to put the knowledge and skills you learn into practice.​
