What is the Cardiff Partnership?

The Cardiff Partnership for Initial teacher education (ITE) is a collaboration between Cardiff Metropolitan University, schools, two Russell Group universities, two regional consortia and City of Cardiff Council.

The Cardiff Partnership will provide a research-informed clinical practice model of ITE underpinned by key principles of the highly-regarded Oxford Internship scheme, whilst developing research and continuing professional development (CPD) partnerships with the University of Oxford, Cardiff University and other providers in Wales, through the University and Schools Council for the Education of Teachers in Wales (USCET). The Cardiff Partnership is committed to the planning of all ITE content, structure and pedagogical strategies with our Lead Partnership Schools/Lead Alliances with the aim of developing future teachers for Wales with the skills, knowledge and ambition to lead the changes outlined in ‘Successful Futures’.

Please note that the Cardiff Partnership for ITE are currently not accepting new applications to join the Partnership at this time, with the exception of Primary Welsh Medium Schools and Cardiff Primary Schools - the recruitment portal is still accepting applications from this category.  If you have any specific questions or require more information, please contact ccplacement@cardiffmet.ac.uk.

The Cardiff Partnership is accredited by the Education Workforce Council for Wales to deliver the following programmes of Initial Teacher Education:
