Your degree is built upon a pioneering interdisciplinary curriculum, preparing you for 21st century working and living. It is designed to broaden your horizons, to build a collaborative mindset, to develop innovative leadership skills, and to make meaningful change in a broad range of creative careers.

Three Core Components

Made up of three core components, Subject, Field & Constellation, the projects and assignments that you complete have your career in mind, with professional practice woven throughout.  

 We are a Future Generations Art & Design School, which means we’re focused on the future, the planet, our communities and making sustainable choices.

Subject

This is your specialism; your home during your time at university. You will be immersed in the practices, histories and creative processes of your chosen degree.

You will be creatively and academically challenged, building on your existing skills by taking part in studio practice projects, tutorials and workshops.

Field

Our interdisciplinary Field modules build your professional foundation, enhancing collaboration, project management, leadership, and critical thinking.

You’ll tackle real-world challenges, engage with industry experts, and join national and international competitions. Develop professional skills and earn digital badges for your CV through the University’s Shape Your Future framework.

Constellation

Here you will develop your academic rigour, critical thinking and research skills, as we introduce you to the wider world of ideas, theory and contextual studies of art and design.  

You’ll learn how art and design contributes to, and is influenced by, a network of contemporary social, cultural, ethical, historical and philosophical contexts.
