The BERA Equality in Education Award recognises an individual whose work has sought to address wider issues of inequality and discrimination in education.  The nominee's work will not only have advanced issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in a local and/or national and/or international context, but there will be evidence that this work has contributed towards creating sustainable structural change in systems and structures that perpetuate inequality and discrimination.

Commenting on the award win, Chantelle said: “I am humbled, privileged and honoured to receive the BERA Equality in Education Award 2024. I do so hopefully with strong expectation that the glow this news brings sheds light on the work of Team DARPL, our community of practice and Wales-wide leadership peers in national policy and practice bringing growth and acceleration opportunities as we seriously strive towards 2030 in anti-racism.

“Our gwaith-calon is not easy and anti-racism professional learning is vastly needed. This BERA award touches both our professional and personal life; this accolade is deeply heartfelt and appreciated."
