In this case study, Stephen Fox, Founder and Director of the Window Cleaning Warehouse, talks about how a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University helped them reach their industrial design goals, giving them a competitive edge in the marketplace. The KTP gave them the platform and support to develop new products for an international market, expanding their business with a year on year turnover increase in the region of 25%.
This Knowledge Transfer Partnership won the Insider Business and Education Partnership Award in 2017.

In this video Paul Newbury, Director and Co-Founder of Yard, talks about how innovation is key to the success of their business. The KTP model attracted Yard because what they wanted to achieve was complex and risky but with the backing of the KTP funding and the valuable Cardiff Met knowledge and expertise, the risks were minimised and they were able to keep their business at the forefront of the marketplace. Paul explains “There are few better ways to achieve innovation than by collaborating in the way we have with Cardiff Met.”
This KTP received Grade A award by Innovate UK.

Collaborative project partnership between Cardiff Metropolitan University, Yard and Cardiff City Council
The DAPTEC project was a collaborative partnership between Cardiff Metropolitan University, Yard and Cardiff Council that worked on physicalising data from Flat Holm Island.

Goggleminds create safe, accessible, and realistic risk-free medical scenarios in virtual reality to help clinical medical training. They received support to launch their business from the Centre for Entrepreneurship at Cardiff Met. Some of the advice has helped them get to where they are now.
The Centre for Entrepreneurship at Cardiff Met is here to support our students and graduates to be more entrepreneurial.
