10 CSAD Product Design Students recently travelled to Kortrijk in Belgium to study at Howest University and work on a live project for 2 weeks.
Working with interactive sportswear company 'LEDsreact', students concentrated on a project adapting interactive sports training cones for use in developing the cognitive ability of children with ADHD, through exercise and memory games.
The students worked in teams with 3 other nationalities; Flemish, Dutch and Finnish, developing the product and producing a range of activities through consultation with experts and parents of children with ADHD. The product and activities were then trialled in schools in the area before presenting their ideas and findings to the company.
During their stay the group also participated in various activities with the locals, exploring their surroundings, including a trip to Bruges and an opportunity to sample Belgium beers.
