Global Engagement

University staff with visiting delegation of officials
A British Council-led delegation of Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training and senior university officials visit Cardiff Met along with representatives from Welsh Government, HEFCW, Taith, Global Wales and Department for International Trade.

Cardiff Met is a global university with an extensive network of global delivery partners, offices, students and alumni around the world. Our International Strategy to 2030 will significantly strengthen the University’s position as a progressive and innovative global learning and research community that is impactful, relevant and inspiring.

We will build on our success with our international partners and international recruitment to deliver a new and coherent approach for our international partnerships, collaborations and students.

We will:

  • Ensure that our student and staff experience delivers an empowering, culturally diverse and inclusive educational environment, equipping our students, staff and alumni to thrive as interculturally effective global citizens.

  • Develop our high-quality, strategic, international collaborations in research, innovation and knowledge exchange, enhancing our contribution to solving the global challenges of our times.

  • Shape our high-quality, strategic transnational educational partnerships to build capacity and contribute to the wellbeing of individuals, economies and societies globally, extending our impact, reach and reputation.

  • Explore the option of private providers and other delivery mechanisms to provide on-campus education for international students from feeder routes to degrees, reducing agent costs and staff’s carbon footprint whilst diversifying and improving the quality of entrants and outcomes.

  • Lead the sector in our commitment to socially responsible and environmentally sustainable international activity, establishing our thought leadership in the role of universities in enhancing inter-cultural relations and auditing and aligning our policies, practices and processes with key national and international goals and frameworks for the benefit of future generations.
