Stuart McNeil is Head of Department for Applied Computing and Engineering, where he supports a team of academics who research and teach in a range of disciplines from Electronics Engineering and Robotics to Human-Computer Interaction, Cyber Security, and Information Systems. As a Principal Lecturer and Field Group Chair, he manages critical pedagogic development of the undergraduate and postgraduate awards within the department.
Stuart has taught on Computing and Design-led modules for over 20 years. The focus of his Computing teaching is Interaction Design and Software Engineering Management. He has led on the development of numerous programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Stuart is a Professional Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS); Member of the BCS, Human Computer Interface group; Member of the Association for Computing Machinery – Special Interest group; Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA) and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
