​Carers Bursary

Award Overview
Cash award worth up to £1000.
Who Can Apply?
Home undergraduate applicants who care, unpaid, for a friend or family member who, due to illness, disability, a mental health problem, or an addiction, cannot cope without their support.

​Care Leavers and Estranged Student's Bursary

Award Overview
Cash award worth up to £1000 per year.
Who Can Apply?
Home undergraduate applicants from a care background, or those applying without the support of a family network.

Performance and Elite Sports Scholarships

Award Overview
Tailored support package worth up to £5000 per year.
Who Can Apply?

Home/EU/International undergraduate applicants who excel in their chosen sport (including performance and/or coaching).

Sanctuary Award

Award Overview
Provision of a Met Rider bus pass, catering voucher, and a full tuition fee-remission.
Who Can Apply?
Refugees and asylum seekers in the UK.

Study Life Award

Award Overview
Award worth up to £950 per year.
Who Can Apply?
Home undergraduate applicants domiciled within designated Higher Education low participation neighbourhoods, with a household income below £30,000.

Please note, any information you provide to us with regards to the bursaries and scholarships above will be used for the assessment of award eligibility, award allocation, and the admissions process of the University. Your award eligibility assessment is generally only seen by bursaries and scholarships support staff. In some situations however, other university staff may see your application/award assessment and relevant information if it is necessary for the purpose of assessment, implementation of award, or in order to provide further support. For example, information may be shared in cases where an award is co-administered with an academic school or department, or with Enrolment, Finance, or Commercial Services to implement your award, or with Student Services colleagues in relation to support provision.


This grant/financial assistance is awarded in line with the requirements of our Welsh Language Policy, published to ensure compliance with the Welsh Language Standards (No.6) Regulations 2017, under the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011.
