Dr Alex McInch

​​Prior to entering Higher Education, Alex worked as a stonemason for 8 years.Alex was educated and subsequently worked at the School of Sport at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Sport Management before progressing on to the MA in the Sociology of Sport, graduating with distinction.

Prior to returning to the Cardiff School of Sport Alex taught at the University of Gloucestershire for 3 years where he was a programme director and senior tutor. Aside from academia, Alex has a passion for football and is a lifelong fan of his hometown club Cardiff City F.C. Alex enjoys all sports and is also a practicing football referee.

Teaching and supervision

I deliver on a range of modules in both the undergraduate and postgraduate modular schemes. I am a module leader across all three levels of undergraduate study and am the research process lead for the Sport Management and Development subject group. I am also a personal tutor and the year tutor for level 4 Sport Development students​
