Cardiff Metropolitan University is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct in all university and research activities.
The
Cardiff Met Research Integrity and Governance Framework applies to all members of staff and students involved in research, regardless of whether they are conducting research inside or outside the institution. The Framework also applies to individuals who are not members of Cardiff Met but who may be conducting research on Cardiff Met premises.
The Framework includes a set of expectations which require all those engaged in research to maintain exemplary standards of academic practice and honesty in all aspects of research by reading, understanding and incorporating the principles and practices set out in the Framework into their everyday work. It also signposts the reader to policies and procedures related to various aspects of research governance at Cardiff Met.
The Framework is regularly reviewed, the current version was approved in December 2017.
The
Cardiff Met Research Misconduct Policy also applies to all individuals who are engaged in research at the institution. This includes all staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students as well as individuals who are not members of Cardiff Met but who may be conducting research on Cardiff Met premises.
The policy requires that allegations of research misconduct are made in writing to the University Director of Research who will establish if a prima facie case of misconduct exists.
The Policy is reviewed on a biennial basis, the current version was approved in December 2021.
