Cardiff Met students and athletes to benefit from new partnership with Nutrition X

News | 6 January 2025

Cardiff Metropolitan University has announced a new partnership with Nutrition X, a leading sports nutrition company recognised for supporting elite athletes and professional sports clubs.

The collaboration aims to enhance the educational and practical opportunities available to students and improve support for performance athletes at the University.

The new partnership will give students access to Nutrition X’s educational portal, featuring resources created by leading scientists and athletes. These materials will give students a deeper understanding of sports nutrition and its role in optimising athletic performance.

Students on Cardiff Met’s postgraduate Nutrition for Sport and Exercise programmes and the BSc Sport and Exercise Science will also have more opportunities to apply their knowledge in a professional context as a result of the new partnership.

Michael Peacock, Head of Performance Services at Cardiff Met, said: “We are excited to partner with Nutrition X to support our athletes with high-quality nutrition and offer opportunities to learn from and engage with industry leaders.

“We’re aligned in our commitment to education, focusing on a food-first approach, personalised support plans, and empowering individuals to achieve their best. This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver innovative, real-world learning experiences while ensuring our multi-sport environment continues to thrive.”

The partnership supports Cardiff Met’s holistic approach to athlete development, emphasising person-centred support and fostering an environment where both students and athletes can excel academically and physically. Performance Sport students will receive a discount code unique to Cardiff Met to purchase hardware and nutrition products.

James Barham, Club Partnerships Manager at Nutrition X, added: “It’s a privilege to partner with Cardiff Metropolitan University, an institution that shares our passion for combining education with performance. By collaborating with such a forward-thinking university, we aim to equip students with practical insights and tools to support athletes at every level. This partnership exemplifies how education and sport can come together to create meaningful impact.”
