Staff Overview

Dr Zhen (Jane) Wang joined Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2004.

Jane has a wide range of experiences in academic teaching and student support. She lectured in China from 1985 to 1996 and was involved in teaching, organizing and co-ordinating English language programs for Chinese university students. She obtained an MA at Nottingham University in 1997 and then completed her PhD study in school of education, Birmingham University in 2002. She also gained Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Jane is interested in subjects related to cross-cultural teaching and learning, academic skills development, and student support. She enjoys working with students from different cultural background and helping them to achieve their goals in education. In her spare time, she likes to travel to different places and explore the local history and culture.

Teaching

​Since joining Cardiff School of Management, Jane has been involved in organizing and teaching a range of undergraduate business study modules (e.g. Academic Skills for Business 1, Contemporary Business Management Theories - Foundation level, Developing a Business, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Project, Mandarin Chinese in Professional Context Level 1-3, Personal Development Planning 1 & 2, Research Skills for Business, Work Experience, International Economics, Strategy & Business Management).

Jane has also acted as dissertation supervisor for both undergraduate and MBA students and is the year tutor for Global Business Management program.
