Reporting to the Dean of Cardiff School of Management, I play a pivotal role in the management of the School, leading the provision of professional services and ensuring outcomes are aligned to the University's strategic aim of becoming a Top 50 UK University. I have overall responsibility for the general management of the School, including budgets and finance, human resources, space allocation, communications, health and safety and risk management. I am actively involved in strategy and policy development, accessing resources and developing the infrastructure of the School and ensuring its efficient and operational development, striving for professional excellence in all areas of activity.
As part of the drive for improved performance, I embrace and support development against the UK Professional Standards Framework, supporting the initial and continuing professional development of both academic and support staff within the School. I am a mentor to staff and students and seek to create an environment that demonstrates equality, trust and respect in order to achieve our strategic vision.
I have held senior positions in both Further and Higher Education including Head of Admissions and Matriculation, Examinations and Assessments Manager and Student Services Manager.
