Staff Overview

I am PMI’s GAC Director (Project Management Institute, Global Accreditation Centre).

My home sector is Project Management, Operations Management, Change Management, Strategy, People, Organisation, Enterprise, Commercial Management, Business, Management, cross and multi-disciplinary, both specialists and generalists for wide range of sectors, domains and industries. I started my career in civil engineering, mega projects, super structures, construction projects, commercial and contract management before moving to conventional and renewable energy projects and operations upstream, midstream and down stream’s hydrocarbon (Oil and Gas) project and programme management, procurement, contract, supply chain management and quality management.

My portfolio of super structure and mega construction projects includes the PETRONAS Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur (tallest twin towers in the world), PUTRAJAYA (New Super SMART Administrative City for Malaysia) and Private University (Energy Company – Tenaga National Berhad in Malaysia).

I have been involved in the feasibility analysis, concept, planning, design, commissioning, start-ups and project management of various Mega Turnkey EPC, EPIC, FIDIC, EPCC, EPCM, EPCIC projects and programmes.

I then moved into academia having trained and delivered successful MSc, MA, MBA and MBA Executive, Undergraduate, Degree Apprenticeships (CMDA and SLDMA), Flexible, Modular and Foundation Programmes and his experience has brought me to United Kingdom, West Europe, USA, South Asia, South East Asia, New Zealand and Middle East.

I have trained and delivered advanced Project Management, Program Management, Portfolio Management, Business and Management, Construction, Surveying (Facilities and Assets Management), Engineering, Built Environment, Operations, Systems, Quality, Hydrocarbon Value Chain (Oil and Gas), Business Information Technology, Business Information Systems courses for wide range of professionals at different stage of their career progression from organisations such as BJ Services, Baker Hughes, Total, Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), NNPC, Sonatrach, ADCO and other ADNOC Group of Companies, Sonangol, Marafiq, Qatar Gas, Qatar Petroleum, Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Pakistan State Oil (PSO), Petronas, Mozambique’s Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH) and Merck Serono.

Research

​Applied research through Corporate and Enterprise Engagement, training and development with upstream conventional energy (oil and gas), construction, built environment, surveying, facilities, assets, process plant and commissioning, competency development framework for post-experience and learners from different points of their career.

Students from my supervision (PGT Level 7) have went on to win industry led awards, scholarships and accolades.

​Project Management Standards Development with PMI (Project Management Institute). Appointed by PMI, US Standards to serve as a Core Committee member on the PMCDF- 3rd Ed (Project Management Competency Development Framework). This committee has been commissioned to develop, author and write content for Project Management Institute (PMI) Global Standard entitled Project Manager Competency Development Framework – Third Edition, published in March 2016.

Served in the ECITB (Engineering Construction Industry Training Board, UK) Offshore Project Management Working Group and developed the content for Project Management Competency Framework widely used by Engineering and Construction Project Professionals and wider Supply Chain Organisations in the Offshore Industry (Oil and Gas Value Chain).

Project Management Institute (PMI) OSV (Onsite Team Member/Team Lead) to accredit and validate GAC’s (Global Accreditation Centre) Project Management Education and Curriculum at various Universities world-wide.

External Examiner (Chief and Lead) with various Universities and their partner institutions spanned globally in the past and currently for Russell Group and Post-92 Universities.

Mentored new External Examiners.

Internal and External Quality Assurance, Compliance and Governance events experience with various Universities and their TNE (Trans-National Education) partners in UK (HE in FE), East Europe, Caribbean, North Africa, West Africa, South Africa, Middle East, South Asia and South East Asia, International Collaborative Partners External Examining.
