Almost 1.13 million children of primary school age (6 to 13 years old) are out of school in Kenya. The situation has worsened due to the impact of COVID-19 related school closures, followed by drought in many parts of the country. Education is one of the most effective ways for people to break the cycle of poverty and their playgrounds and play-based programmes encourage children to go to school and enhance their learning.

The Kenya Volunteer Project, brand new for 2023, is giving you the chance to go out to the brand-new compound in Kenya for 2 weeks to build an exciting playground at a nearby primary school, as well as explore the beautiful country of Kenya. As an ethical, affordable trip, it is the perfect opportunity to have the summer of a lifetime!
