Biography
I'm generally to be found in the animation studios of the N Block (N1.01 and N1.03). My duties include introducing students to the animation pipeline from storyboarding and cutting an animatic to character design and animation according to the 12 principles. I also guide students through use of the industry standard software we have on offer as well as setting briefs that reflect industry practice and showreel development.
Having worked in Art and Design for 35 years, I've been in the animation industry for about 30. Beginning my career as a storyboard artist, I then navigated my way through the traditional animation route from assistant animator to animation director. I've worked on a host of children's animation in the last 30 years from directing the last series of Welsh classic Sali Mali to animation director and animator on the anarchic Dave Spud. I recently worked on the successful YouTube series 'Corpse Talk' on their 2022 Halloween Special!
I'm bilingual if you're more comfortable speaking in Welsh or English and when I'm not teaching animation, I'm at the skatepark!
