Our Board of Governors is made up of both external and internal members, with a lay majority; they have responsibility for the educational character and mission of our university, as well as having oversight of its activities.
Key functions of the Board include considering and approving our strategic plan, which sets our university's aims and objectives, and overseeing the financial, physical, and staffing strategies necessary to achieve this plan.

In the academic year 22/23 the Board of Governors has six committees:

- Campus 2030 (Programme Board)
