Cardiff Met launches new programme of art and design short courses

Cardiff Metropolitan University's School of Art and Design is launching a range of new evening and weekend short courses open to all abilities, giving people the opportunity to hone their skills at the university's professionally equipped studios and workspaces.

From pottery to painting, drawing to design thinking, photography, printmaking and craft courses, with a total of 10 courses set to take place during the Autumn term. The courses are suitable for complete beginners as well as artists and designers of all abilities.

The following courses are now available for the Autumn term:

  • Introduction to Drawing, Wednesdays from 2nd October 2024
  • Life Drawing, Tuesdays from 1st October 2024
  • Doodle Ease Creative Neurographic Mindfulness Course, Wednesdays from 2nd October 2024
  • Painting the Human Figure, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October 2024
  • Introduction to Watercolour, Mondays from 30th September 2024
  • Creative Flow with Acrylics, Mediums and Collage, Thursdays from 3rd October 2024
  • Improve Your Photography The Basics, Saturday 5th October 2024
  • Collograph Printmaking, Mondays from 30th September 2024
  • Reduction Linocut Printing, Tuesdays from 1st October 2024
  • Sewing Your Own Clothes Garment Making, Mondays from 30th September 2024

Dr Bethan Gordon, Dean of the School of Art and Design at Cardiff Met said: Cardiff School of Art and Design short courses run throughout the year at our Llandaff campus and are designed to suit all learners. It doesn't matter if you are an experienced artist or designer, considering returning to Higher Education and preparing your portfolio, or are just keen to learn a new skill - there is something for everyone".

Anyone who takes part on the courses will have the opportunity to learn from our experienced tutors, working in some of the excellent studio spaces available in the Cardiff School of Art and Design, alongside likeminded learners.
