Cardiff Metropolitan University has its highest ranking in The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide for a decade.
The new ranking of 78 is 15 places higher than last year. Cardiff Met was also named runner-up Welsh University of the Year.
The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024 provides prospective students and their families with the right information to make an informed choice about their higher education, ranking a variety of measures including student experience, teaching quality and research performance. This year’s ranking has increased due to improved performance in entry standards, graduate prospects and good degree outcomes.
Cardiff Met’s first place position in the People and Planet’s Green League 2022/23, the only comprehensive and independent league table of all UK universities ranked by environmental and ethical performance, also contributed to the rise in the ranking.
Professor Cara Aitchison, President and Vice Chancellor of Cardiff Met, said: “We’re continually striving to ensure Cardiff Met provides outstanding opportunities for young people to expand their horizons, build their knowledge, and acquire new high-level skills through excellent teaching, support and the wider student experience and graduate outcomes.”
