Hadeel Cassinelli is an Accounting and Finance Lecturer for the Cardiff School of Management (CSM).
Hadeel graduated from Cardiff University in 2001 with a 1st Class Honours degree in BSc Accountancy. She thoroughly enjoyed her academic studies and was a prize-winner at both second and third years of her degree. In 2001, she joined the Corporate Tax department of the Big Four firm Deloitte, where she gained considerable Tax, Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley experience for a wide portfolio of clients ranging from small owner-managed businesses to multinational companies.
Whilst at Deloitte, she successfully completed the professional ACA Chartered Accountancy qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in 2005, and now possesses the FCA title.
After 5 years in practice, Hadeel embarked on a teaching career in 2006 at a Further Education College, teaching the AAT Accounting qualification at all levels. In 2008, she moved into Higher Education teaching at Cardiff Metropolitan University, leading core ACCA-accredited modules 'Advanced Performance Management' and 'Advanced Financial Management' to level 6 Accounting/ Accounting and Finance undergraduates, in addition to a core accounting module on the MBA programme.
In July 2013, Hadeel graduated with a Post-graduate Certificate of Teaching in Higher Education (PgCTHE) and became a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Since 2013, she is also the level 6 academic year tutor for Accounting/ Accounting & Finance/ Economics/ Banking and Finance undergraduates. As part of her year tutor role, she has built strong contacts with accounting graduates and is keen to follow their natural progression into the professional accountancy environment. She is a member of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), Accounting Education Special Interest Group (SIG) as her favoured research interest is in Accounting Education, specifically around the areas of engagement, accreditation, and graduate career success.
