My role at the ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre
Having previously undertaken a part-time Masters in Food Technology for Industry at Cardiff Metropolitan University alongside employment in the food and drink manufacturing and processing industry, I have recently embarked upon a Professional Doctorate within the Food Industry Research Centre at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
The focus of my project is to understand and implement bespoke approaches to facilitate and evaluate targeted food safety culture improvement mechanisms in the business in which I am employed. In order to maintain and improve food safety standards across the business, a robust food safety culture is vital to ensure that the food safety management system is embedded in the day-to-day running of the business. This will reduce food safety incidences in the future and limit threats to the company’s financial position and reputation.
The project is overseen by Dr Elizabeth C Redmond (Director of Studies) and Professor Arthur Tatham (Supervisor) with additional expertise provided by Dr Paul Hewlett from the Department of Applied Psychology.
