I am a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education and Welsh in the School of Education and Social Policy. My main role is on the PGCE Primary Programme and I also teach on the BA Education Studies Programme.
I have experience in both the Primary and Secondary education sectors and have worked in Higher Education since 1990. I began my HE career at University of South Wales, Newport, leading the Welsh medium course on the 3 year BA Hons Primary Education Programme. My journey since that time has taken me to Ireland where I worked at St Catherine's Lawrence's Primary School, Delgany as a Learning Support Assistant for SEN pupils with additional needs; a School Experience Supervisor for Froebel College and a Lecturer at Dunlaoghaire Institute of Art and Design where I taught Personal Development and Study Skills to adults returning to education.
I have worked as a Team Inspector for Estyn; External Moderator for Cynllun Colegau Cymru and am currently the External Examiner for the BA Hons Primary Studies Programme at Bangor University.
I am currently working to achieve my Professional Doctorate in Education at Cardiff Metropolitan Unversity. My research focus is on the development of a peer-coaching programme for the PGCE Primary Programme.
