As a senior technician Mike’s role involves providing technical support and advice to staff and students during data collections. Mike also ensures that equipment is maintained and students and researchers are skilled in the use of biomechanic specific hardware. These include systems such as automated motion analysis systems and force measuring equipment, as well as the associated software.


Research Interests and Publications

Mike’s research interests include the use of novel video training techniques and biofeedback to improve athletes performance in fast ball sports, namely football goalkeeping. He also has an interest in the use of biomechanical models to predict knee osteoarthritis within injured populations. In addition he also has been involved with research investigating muscular control in hypermobile populations.

Sporting / Coaching Profile

I am currently part of Cardiff Metropolitan Universtiy Trampoline club and actively represent the university at competitions around the country. I am also an avid runner having completed numerous 10k races and half marathons. ​
