Cardiff School of Management Research

The overarching aim of the Cardiff School of Management (CSM) is to be a first class provider of business and management education which is rooted in research and serves the needs of the business community regionally, nationally (both Wales and UK) and internationally, contributing to regional regeneration and economic growth through its teaching, enterprise work and applied research.

In the latest Research Excellence Framework 2021, 100% of Cardiff School of Management’s research impact was recognised as being internationally excellent, demonstrating the currency and positive effect of our engagement with business, government and society.

Research activities at the School are organised a number of themes with research centres and groups taking the lead in driving this research activity forward. Much of our research is multidisciplinary often carried out with researchers from other Schools within the University and, through a range of international knowledge networks developed by our academic staff.

93% of the research activity submitted to the Business and Management Unit of Assessment was rated as being of internationally recognised quality and 89% of the research outputs were rated as being of internationally recognised quality or above in terms of originality, significance and rigour.

We would welcome and encourage you to contact us if you are seeking to collaborate with us on research projects or if you are considering undertaking one of our research degrees.
