The National Centre for Product Design + Development Research (PDR) has been a partner in the successful ASTUTE project proposal. With a total budget of £26.8m (£0.5m for PDR), this is a pan-Wales programme involving most Welsh HEIs.
The aim of ASTUTE is to offer advanced manufacturing technology to companies in the convergence areas, and at the same time, improve environmental sustainability across the various organisations.
The focus of the project is research and knowledge transfer to support Welsh SMEs. The key sectors are aerospace, automotive and high-value manufacturing.
